Les Hommes n'en sauront rien? | Photo polymer print on Rives paper | 2018

This illustration, realized in a series of photo polymer prints, was inspired by the study of female surrealism. Primarily using mediums of photography, collage, and painting, women surrealists delved into a search of self and femininity through exploration of the subconscious. Contrary to the driven imagination of the male surrealists, the female counterparts to this movement drew a certain poignant sensitivity from intuitive experience. Their work caused the audience to question reality through a lens of self-discovery.
Dénouement | Artist book, lithographed prints, thread, Rives paper | 2018

The artist book Dénouement is a visual narrative which reveals internal conflict between the physical and the spiritual through the use of surreal symbols. The title’s direct meaning, “to unknot,” plays off of the material of the red thread, a symbol which conveys anxiety and mania. Juxtaposed between soft white paper and delicate printed lithographs, the book stands as a visually enticing work but summons deeper interpretation. The work is inspired by the collages of the Surrealist movement.
She is the Universe | Photolithographic print on Rives paper | 2018

She is the Universe is a series of lithographic prints derived from a hand-illustrated photo negative. It was inspired by the transcendent beauty and mystery of the planet Saturn, a metaphysical search for meaning in the vast reaches of the cosmos, and the paralleled unknown microcosms inside each of us.
